TASHKENT, Uzbekistan: Tanzila Narbayeva, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Parliament in Uzbekistan, recently held a productive meeting with Ahmed bin Nasser Al Fadala, the Secretary-General of the Shura Council of Qatar.
The discussions centred on bolstering cooperation between the two nations and charting the course for stronger inter-parliamentary ties.
Both parties acknowledged the positive trajectory of trade turnover and investments between Uzbekistan and Qatar. Despite the ongoing growth in these areas, the leaders emphasized that the current trade volume does not fully reflect the substantial potential of both countries. To achieve this goal, the leaders proposed ensuring the regularity of high-level visits and expediting the development of a comprehensive document outlining interparliamentary cooperation. The agreement reached aims to foster a more dynamic and mutually beneficial relationship, transcending the existing trade and investment dynamics.
Additionally, the discussions touched upon the significance of active engagement within various international organizations and parliamentary structures. The leaders pledged to facilitate a robust and ongoing dialogue that extends beyond bilateral relations, contributing to the broader diplomatic landscape.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to further collaboration, emphasizing the importance of leveraging parliamentary channels to enhance the multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Qatar.
