TASHKENT: In a big development, Uzbek citizens can now visit Dubai and other cities of the United Arab Emirates without issuing visas, local media reported on Friday.
A protocol on mutual exemption from entry visa requirements by the UAE and Uzbekistan was signed in Abu Dhabi on January 16.
The deal between the countries allows tourists to stay in the UAE for up to thirty days without the need for entry visas, according to Uzbek media.
This innovation will greatly simplify the process of planning visits and will contribute to the development of tourism and the economies of both nations.
Moreover, the simplified visa regime will increase tourist demand and make Dubai and UAE’s other cities more attractive for tourists from Uzbekistan.
Meanwhile, the data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency revealed that 131,589 Uzbek nationals visited the UAE in 2023.
Uzbekistan, UAE to increase frequency of flights
Furthermore, a deal was signed between Uzbekistan and the UAE to increase the frequency of flights. According to details, airlines from both nations can now operate 41 flights per week on different routes, such as Samarkand – Abu Dhabi, Tashkent – Abu Dhabi, and others. This deal is aimed at developing tourism and strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and the UAE.
