TASHKENT: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Wednesday met with Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Mr. Khusrav Noziri, Trend reported.
The two sides discussed issues of further development of practical interaction within the association’s framework and enhancing the effectiveness of this multilateral structure.
The President of Uzbekistan emphasized a great potential for expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, mainly through joint projects and programs in transport, trade, investment, innovation, tourism, and ecology.
The Secretary-General of ECO expressed sincere gratitude for Uzbekistan’s active participation in the organization’s activities and high-level preparation of the upcoming ECO summit, which will be held for the first time in Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan, under the motto “Together Towards Economic Stability and Development.”
The two sides noted with deep satisfaction the implementation of Uzbekistan’s initiatives presented during the Ashgabat summit in 2021.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the agenda of the upcoming Tashkent meeting of the ECO leaders.
