ISLAMABAD: Various schools and universities in Islamabad have been closed indefinitely due to security concerns following a search operation conducted by security agencies in the suburbs of Islamabad on Sunday.

Bahria, Air, and National Defence Universities administrations have issued directives for the closure. Students were informed about the closure late at night, affecting final examinations.

The closure directive extends to several schools and universities in Islamabad, particularly in the F-6, F-7, and F-8 sectors, leading to disruptions in regular academic activities.

Authorities are urging parents and students to stay informed through official channels regarding the reopening of educational institutions.

Due to the reported security threat, precautionary measures have been implemented to safeguard the well-being of students, faculty, and staff. Although the specific nature of the threat has not been disclosed, the decision to temporarily close educational institutions is a proactive step to minimize potential risks.

In response to heightened security concerns, authorities have alerted Islamabad. This proactive decision is prompted by the potential security risks, leading to measures to ensure the city’s safety.

As part of these efforts, a search operation was conducted in several key areas, including Redzone, Margalla Road, Sector E Seven, and E-9, according to sources. Authorities focused their operations in these locations to identify and neutralize potential threats.

The conducted search operation is part of the agencies’ comprehensive set of security measures to address and mitigate emerging threats preemptively.
