CARACAS: Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto announced on Sunday his country’s support for the imposition of an oil embargo on “Israel” as a response to the ongoing aggression in Gaza and what he termed as crimes against the Palestinian people.

In a statement reported by Novosti Agency, Yvan Gil described the situation in Gaza as a “crime” and a violation of international agreements on humanitarian law. He strongly asserted that the Israeli actions amount to genocide, expressing Venezuela’s insistence on an immediate ceasefire without conditions and the facilitation of humanitarian aid.

Venezuela Ready to Adopt Measures Against Israel

Yvan Gil clarified that Venezuela does not currently export oil to “Israel” and lacks diplomatic relations with the country. However, he affirmed that his nation stands ready to support any measures adopted within the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to address the situation in Gaza.
