Wahab Riaz Apologizes Over Reckless Driving in Lahore Rain

LAHORE: Renowned fast bowler and Adviser to Punjab Interim Chief Minister on Sports and Youth Affairs Wahab Riaz on Thursday apologized for recklessly splashing rainwater on motorcyclists while driving his SUV on flooded roads in Lahore.

Riaz received massive backlash from the people after the video went viral on social media.

Taking to Twitter, Riaz said that he apologized for what happened, but at the same time, he also criticized the people by saying: “There are always two sides of the coin, but unfortunately, we always see the wrong one only.”

“I’m sorry for what happened yesterday; it was purely unintentional and was misperceived very wrongly. Let’s always try to spread positivity and not malign our beautiful country with negative propaganda. Stay blessed,” he wrote.

On Wednesday, when Lahore received the most rain in thirty years, the video quickly gained popularity on social media. The pacer is seen riding the case erratically on the wet roadways while spitting rainwater at passing cars and motorcycle riders.

Later, the batsman was criticized for his reckless driving on social media, and some users demanded an apology.
