War in Ukraine Could Drag on for Several Years: Wagner Owner

KYIV: The owner of the Russia’s Wagner Group Yevgeny Prigozhin said on Saturday that war in Ukraine could drag on for several years. According to media reports the owner of the group is actively involved in the war in Ukraine.

He said in a video interview that the war could take two years for Moscow to completely secure control of Ukraine’s industrial heartland of Donbas.

Kyiv and his Western allies have warned that Moscow could start a new offensive to try to turn the tide of the war as the conflict approaches the one year mark. However, Ukraine’s army spokesperson told the media that Russia does not have enough resources to launch a large-scale action.

Wagner owner admitted that the Ukrainian forces were mounting resistance.

Ukraine’s army chief, Gen. Valerii Zaluzhnyi, told the media that Russian troops launched 35 S-300 missiles, 71 cruise missiles, and seven Shahed drones recently, saying that Ukrainian air defenses shot down 61 missiles and 5 drones.
