War on Gaza: Over 20,000 People Join Pro-Palestinian Protest in Brussels

BRUSSELS: More than 21,000 people took part in a pro-Palestinian march in Brussels on Saturday, police said, many were chanting slogans such as “Free Palestine” and demanding a truce in the Gaza Strip as they marched peacefully across the city.

A protestor told Reuters that what is occurring right now in the Gaza Strip is beyond devastating. The protestor was carrying a poster that read “Truce now!” in Dutch.

Other protest demonstrators held up posters and banners that read “Stop the Genocide”, “Human Rights for Palestinian People” or demanded the arrest of the Israeli Prime Minister over what they called war crimes and genocide.

“It is significant to let our voice be heard, that we cannot accept innocent people being bombed and being killed,” another demonstrator stated.

The Israeli military strikes in the Gaza Strip has also prompted anger, with protest demonstrations in cities worldwide demanding a ceasefire in Gaza.

Similarly, in London, over 100,000 pro-Palestinian protest demonstrators took to the streets on Saturday.  Several thousand people held protest demonstration in Paris on Saturday under the rallying call “Stop the massacre in Gaza.”

The protestors called for France to “demand an immediate truce” in the Gaza Strip. “I attended the protest to support the Palestinian cause, for a truce in Gaza,” said engineer Ahlem Triki.
