WASHINGTON: The United States (US) will provide up to $250 million in weapons and equipment to Ukraine in the final aid package this year to support Kyiv in its war with Moscow, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Wednesday.
US President Joe Biden has urged Congress to provide another $61 billion in aid to Kyiv, but Republicans are declining to approve the help without an agreement with Democrats to increase security along the Mexico-US border.

The White House has also warned that without the supplementary appropriation Washington’s aid will run out by the end of the current year for Ukraine’s war to retake territory occupied by Russian troops since it attacked in February 2022.
Antony Blinken said the latest assistance package included air defense munitions, ammunition for high-mobility artillery rocket systems, anti-armor munitions, artillery ammunition, and more than 15 million rounds of ammunition.
US Congress has adopted more than $110 billion for Ukraine since Russia’s attack, but it has not approved any funds since Republican party took control of the US House of Representatives from Democrats in January 2023.
