ISLAMABAD: Different sections of motorways were closed Sunday in parts of the country due to dense fog.
Motorways affected by harsh weather
According to the Motorways Police, Motorway (M-2) was closed from Lahore to Kot Momin due to fog. Lahore-Multan Motorway was closed from Faizpur to Darkhana.
Motorway (M-4) was closed from Pindi Bhatian to Faisalabad. Motorway (M-5) was closed from Sher Shah to Zahir Pir. Similarly, Motorway (M-11) from Lahore to Sambrial was also closed due to thick fog.
Meanwhile, the Met office has forecast rain-snowfall over the hills in western and upper parts of the country during the weekend. Met Office has said that light to moderate rain (with snowfall over the hills) is expected in Dalbandin, Harnai, Qilla Saifullah, Quetta, Zhob, Barkhan, Ziarat, Nokkundi, Qilla Abdullah, Chaman and Pishin on 8 January.
Light rain is also likely in Islamabad, Pothohar region, Charsada, Waziristan, Kohat, Bajaur, Kurram, during the weekend.
