Weather Updates: Met Office Forecasts Mainly Cold, Dry Weather

ISLAMABAD:  Pakistan’s met office said that mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most plain areas of the South Asian country while cloudy in northern areas during the next 12 hours.   However, isolated areas in Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may experience light rain and snowfall. Dense fog and smog are likely to persist in the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh.

The recorded temperatures in major cities this morning are as follows:

  • Islamabad: 6 degrees Celsius
  • Lahore and Quetta: 7 degrees Celsius
  • Karachi: 12 degrees Celsius
  • Peshawar: 8 degrees Celsius
  • Gilgit: 2 degrees Celsius
  • Murree: 5 degrees Celsius
  • Muzaffarabad: 3 degrees Celsius

In the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the forecast predicts partly cloudy conditions with a chance of light rain and snow in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula.

The morning temperatures recorded in the region are as follows:

  • Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag, and Shopian: 1 degree Celsius
  • Jammu: 7 degrees Celsius
  • Leh: -4 degrees Celsius
  • Baramula: 2 degrees Celsius
