NEW YORK: WhatsApp, the popular messaging app owned by Meta, has announced a new update that brings an interesting enhancement to its pinned messages feature.

The update, currently available to beta testers on Android, introduces media previews for pinned messages, enhancing the user experience and making it easier to engage with important content.

The new feature allows users to preview thumbnails of pinned texts directly within the conversation, providing a visual representation of the content. This enhancement aims to streamline navigation and facilitate quick access to key messages within the chat.

According to reports from WABetaInfo, the feature is included in WhatsApp beta version 2.24.11.12 and may also be available in older beta versions. Despite the existing limit of three pinned texts per conversation, this addition serves as a valuable tool for users seeking to prioritize and manage their messages effectively.

In addition to the media previews for pinned messages, WhatsApp has also introduced another feature aimed at enhancing the functionality of community group chats. Group admins now have the ability to add descriptions to their groups, offering members more context and information about the group’s purpose or guidelines.

This feature, introduced in WhatsApp beta version 2.24.11.11, aims to improve communication and collaboration within community groups.
