KARACHI: Pakistan Women cricketer team secured an emphatic eight-wicket victory against West Indies Women through a superb display of bowling prowess, marking their inaugural win in the five-match T20I series held at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi.
Chasing a modest target of 85 runs, Sidra Amin (15 runs off 12 balls, including 3 boundaries) initiated the innings with a 26-run opening stand alongside Ayesha Zafar. Afy Fletcher and Shamilia Connell managed to claim one wicket each for the West Indies side.
In the initial innings, after electing to bat, West Indies faced early setbacks with Qiana Joseph dismissed for a golden duck and Hayley Matthews departing after scoring a solitary run, both falling victim to Sadia Iqbal’s bowling prowess.
