LONDON: World Class pacer from England James Anderson’s terrific carrier is finally come to an end as the bowling maestro would retire from the international Test cricket after the first match of the series against West Indies at Lord’s this year, he said on Saturday.

The announcement would end his 21-year career in which he became the most ever successful bowler.

During his carrier, the 41-year-old has managed to get 700 Test wickets, behind only Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan (800) and Australia’s Shane Warne (708) on the all-time list.

James Anderson made his debut for England at the famous Lords in 2003, and now would close his memorable career at the same ground while playing his 188th Test.

“It’s been an incredible 20 years representing my country, playing the game I have loved since I was a kid. I’m going to miss walking out for England so much,” Anderson said in a statement, adding that now this is the time to step aside and let others to fulfil their dreams just like I got to, because there is no greater feeling.

Being famous as the “Burnley Express”, Anderson did not mention if he would continue playing county cricket for his club Lancashire who renamed the Pavilion End at Old Trafford as the James Anderson End.

He further stated that, he was excited for the new challenges that to face ahead, as well as filling his days with even more golf.

He also thanked to everyone who has supported him over the years, adding that “it’s always meant a lot, even if my face often doesn’t show it.”

England to first West indies in the first match of a three-Test series on July 10.

James Anderson a World Class Bowler

Commenting over the splendid carrier of James Anderson, Chair of the country’s cricket board (ECB), Richard Thompson, said that Anderson deserved a fitting send-off at the home of cricket.

“I don’t think we would ever see a bowler to match Jimmy again. It has been an honor as an England fan to watch him, and to marvel at his skill with the ball,” he said.

It is worth noting here that being at 41, James Anderson was still in tremendous form while producing some nicer swinging delivery despite lack of the pace he had few years before.
