Saudi Arabia Minister calls on SG BIE over World Expo 2030

RIYADH: Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia met with Secretary General (SG) of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) (SG BIE) Dimitri Kerkentzes.

During the meeting, the Saudi Arab’s candidature for hosting of 2030 World Expo in logistics and transport sectors was confirmed. In the meeting, the two officials also talked about the system’s present and future initiatives and projects in relation to the goals of the Saudi Arab Vision 2030.

SA, Italy, and South Korea vying to host World Expo 2030

Three nations have made competing bids to host World Expo 2030: Saudi Arabia, Italy, and the South Korea. The project evaluation phase for World Expo 2030 is in progress, and each bidder has given the BIE a thorough application dossier. Between January and March 2023, the BIE will arrange inquiry missions to all candidate nations to evaluate the viability of each candidacy project.

Since 1931, the international organisation in charge of directing and regulating World Expos has been known as the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).
