WASHINGTON:  World leaders congratulated Donald Trump although the counting of votes is still continuing while Kamla Harris is also yet to concede.

French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday felicitated “President Donald Trump”, adding he was ready to work with the US vote frontrunner “with respect” like “we managed to do for four years”.

In a post on social media X, Macron stated that the relationship with Trump, who is leading the US presidential vote, would “take account of your convictions, and mine”, adding: “For more peace and prosperity.”

UK’s PM congratulates Trump on Election Win

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has congratulated Trump on his “historic election win”, saying that UK-US special ties would “continue to prosper”.

“As the closest of allies, we stand shoulder to shoulder in defence of our common values of freedom, enterprise and democracy. From growth as well as security to innovation and tech, I know that London-Washington special ties will continue to prosper on both sides of the Atlantic for years to come,” Starmer said.

Erdogan Congratulates Trump

Turkey’s leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday extended his greetings to his friend Trump after he claimed win in the US presidential polls.

“I hope Turkey-US relations will strengthen, that regional and global crises and wars, especially the Palestinian issue and the Russia-Ukraine war, will come to an end,” Erdogan wrote on X.

Zelensky Reacts Over Trump ‘Win’

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky has felicitated Trump on his ” win” in US elections and hoped his presidency would bring “just peace in Ukraine closer.”

Pakistan 

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated Donald Trump, adding look forward to working closely with the incoming Administration to further strengthen and broaden the Pakistan-U.S.

 

NATO

NATO chief Mark Rutte also congratulated Donald Trump for winning the US presidential polls and said his return to power will help keep the alliance “strong”.

“His leadership will also again be key to keeping our Alliance strong. I also look forward to working with him again to advance peace through strength through alliance,” Rutte stated.

Jordan Congratulates Trump

Jordan’s King Abdullah II congratulated Donald Trump following the Republican candidate claimed win in the US presidential election, adding he hoped they could work for peace and stability in the region.

China

Beijing said Wednesday that it expressed hope for “peaceful coexistence” with the US as Donald Trump neared a decisive win over Kamala Harris in the country’s presidential polls.

“We will continue to approach and handle China-US ties based on the principles of mutual respect, as well as peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation,” Chinese foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning told a regular press briefing.

“Our policy toward Washington has been consistent,” she said.

The spokesperson did not comment directly on the possibility of Trump’s re-election, but stated “the US presidential election is a domestic affair of the US”.

India

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also congratulated Trump for a “historic election win” Wednesday, saying that he was looking forward to working with the vote frontrunner.

Earlier, Donald Trump claimed victory and vowed to “heal” the country Wednesday as results put him on the verge of beating Kamala Harris in a superb White House comeback.

However, his exuberant speech came despite the fact that only Fox News had declared the former President the winner, with no other American networks having made the call so far.
