DUBAI: Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, is back online for most users globally after experiencing an hour-long outage on Thursday.

Users of X, were facing issues accessing content on the site early on Thursday.

Timelines on the platform appeared empty, and no new posts were visible. However, posting content to the twitter.com site remained possible. Downdetector, a monitoring platform, recorded nearly 70,000 outage reports within the hour, with a significant impact on many users in the UAE. Subscribers of both X and X Pro (formerly Tweetdeck) were affected by the service interruption.

As of now, the cause of the outage remains unknown, and there has been no official statement from X, which is owned by Elon Musk.
