Xinjiang Enterprises Seek Business Opportunities in Central Asia

URUMQI: Representatives of industry-leading enterprises from China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region are currently visiting Central Asia to find business opportunities in the region.

During the ten-day trip, Xinjiang businessmen will make efforts to attend trade fairs, establish new contacts, and engage in business negotiations in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

The businesses trip aims to strengthen trade and economic cooperation between Central Asian countries and Xinjiang, said the commerce’s regional bureau, adding that it will actively hold dialogue and exchanges with enterprises and governments of the Central Asian countries to tap the true potential of multilateral cooperation in diverse fields.

Central Asia offers profitable business opportunities

Xinjiang Zhongtai (Group) Co., Ltd Executive Vice General Manager, Parhati Memetiyimin, said the company would ink a large export deal for chemical products with companies in Kazakhstan. He said that during the trip, the company is also seeking crude oil import opportunities in Central Asia.

“The government has taken the initiative in leading enterprises to go international and engage in business overseas, signaling that Xinjiang has increased support for foreign trade,” YEMA Group Co., Ltd, executive vice president Chen Gang said.

During the trip, the commerce’s regional bureau will hold exchanges to boost cooperation between sister cities, facilitate international logistics channels, and enhance port infrastructure construction, according to Liu Bo of the bureau.
