SANAA, Yemen: Yemen’s Houthi, claimed responsibility for a drone attack on Israel’s southern Ashkelon industrial zone on Tuesday, marking their latest involvement in the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.
According to AFP the Israeli military confirmed the incident, noting that the drone landed in an open area near Ashkelon, close to the volatile Gaza border.
The Houthi reported that the assault involved multiple drones, describing it as a “specific military operation” targeting Israeli interests.
This latest strike follows a series of Houthi drone and missile attacks against Israel in support of Palestine, including a July incident where a Houthi drone killed a civilian in Tel Aviv.
In response, Israel retaliated with airstrikes on Yemen’s Hodeida port, a critical entry point for humanitarian aid.
Beyond drone and missile assaults, Houthi have increased attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea, further escalating regional tensions and complicating trade routes.
