QUETTA: After days of speculation, it has been confirmed that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari will be jointly addressing a public rally in Quetta.
Arriving today for a four-day visit, the father-son pair will participate in the rally scheduled for tomorrow, commemorating the party’s 56th Foundation Day. Additionally, the provincial and divisional leadership are set to meet with the party chairman during their visit.
Asif Zardari is anticipated to address the lawyers at the High Court’s bar-room, according to sources. Previously, there were indications of discord between father and son regarding the party’s narrative before the upcoming elections.
The ex-foreign minister had advocated for senior politicians to step back from politics, making room for the younger generation. Meanwhile, Zardari labelled Bilawal as ‘inexperienced’ in an interview, garnering considerable attention. Subsequent to this interview, Bilawal departed for Dubai, sparking speculations about internal discord within the party.
Presently, both the father and son plan to jointly appear in public, aiming to dispel any notion of rift within the family or the party.
