ISLAMABAD: Road-users faced tough conditions as a layer of dense fog covered the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad in the early hours of Saturday night.
Vehicles could be seen moving slowly on the main highways in the wake of almost zero visibility. Fog is unusual in the pothohar region housing the twin cities but the region has seen dense fog for the last few days coupled with a wave of biting cold throwing routine life out of gear.
Islamabad Traffic police have urged citizens to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling as dense fog has disrupted traffic at several places due to low visibility.
The drivers have been asked to drive slowly and switch on fog lights to avoid traffic accidents. Driving in foggy conditions with low visibility becomes difficult and always has a potential of road accident.
