ISLAMABAD: Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) will financially assist Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) to extend its research outreach to the farmers’ doorsteps aiming to enhance their livelihood opportunities across the country.
In this regard, ZTBL will collaborate with PARC for the up-scaling of its innovative farming technologies to develop and transform the agriculture sector for increasing the crops per-acre production.
Both organizations have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to form a collaborative relationship in improving and adapting the latest agricultural technologies and best crop management practices to enhance farm efficiency and benefit farmers.
Under the MoU, both organizations will work jointly to organize awareness webinars, seminars, field days and workshops to disseminate the latest developments in the sector for improving the life standard of the farmers. The two will also develop partnerships for running joint pilot projects, ventures and research activities.
ZTBL, PARC joint initiatives
Demonstration plots will be established and research trials on modern agricultural technology, crop diversification and agronomic practices will be carried out.
Moreover, PARC will also assist ZTBL in capacity building and training of bank crew in the latest agricultural technology, dairy management, crop production practices and agricultural entrepreneurship.
It will also provide technical support and guidance to transform ZTBL Fram Islamabad into an agriculture tourism center. — APP
