MIRPUR (AJK): Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, the former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), has strongly criticized the Indian government’s decision to ban the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP), led by the renowned Kashmiri rights leader Shabbir Ahmed Shah.

He firmly warned that such actions of terrorism would not silence the voice of freedom among the Kashmiri people.

In a recent statement, Attique emphasized that the Kashmiris residing in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) are not considered Indian nationals or citizens according to relevant UN Security Council documents related to Kashmir.

He described the Indian presence in the occupied valley as that of an oppressive colonizer with anti-humanitarian actions. Attique stressed that Kashmiris possess every right to resist Indian illegal occupation, its draconian laws, and oppression.

The former Prime Minister of AJK pointed out that despite Shabbir Ahmed Shah’s decade-long imprisonment by the Indian government, his political influence in occupied Kashmir remains intact.

He also highlighted that the Modi government has gained a global reputation for severe human rights violations, even resorting to the extrajudicial killing of its opponents abroad, as seen in the case of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada.

Attique instructed his party members, especially those in Europe and North America, to organize peaceful and well-disciplined protests against the ban on JKDFP, emphasizing that it represents a violation of human rights and goes against the UN mandate in Kashmir. —APP
