RIYADH: The King Abdulaziz Public Library (KAPL) organized an exclusive screening of the documentary titled “The Last Bedouin” at its headquarters in Riyadh, dedicated to the elderly community.

Produced by KAPL, the documentary has gained significant attention through multiple screenings in recent months, drawing enthusiastic audiences and receiving accolades.

“The Last Bedouin” offers an intimate glimpse into the lives and daily experiences of the last Bedouin inhabitants of the Arabian Peninsula. The film sheds light on their existence in various desert regions, including the Al-Dahna desert, Al-Summan plateau, the Empty Quarter desert, and Bisha desert.

It delves into the reasons behind the Bedouin groups’ preference for desert life over urban living.

Through captivating storytelling, viewers, including citizens and residents, have had the opportunity to explore an essential aspect of the Kingdom’s rich history. The documentary showcases the Bedouin culture, their affinity for camels, their tribal bonds with the earth and tents, and the enduring connection between Saudis and the desert, despite the Kingdom’s remarkable progress in urban, economic, and cultural domains.

The King Abdulaziz Public Library remains committed to fostering social and cultural interactions, catering to diverse segments of society, regardless of age. Beyond film screenings, the library extends its facilities to schools, universities, national and private institutions, offering cinematic and theatrical presentations.

Furthermore, KAPL endeavors to ensure inclusivity by organizing programs and events accessible to individuals with disabilities and special needs.
