Pakistan: NA will Hold Probably Last Session Today

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s National Assembly is likely to hold its last session today at about pm as the South Asian country’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Shareef has announced to send a summary to President Dr. Arif Alvi to dissolve the assembly on Wednesday (today).

As per media reports, the six-point agenda of the setting has been issued. Meanwhile, the parliament joint session will also be held around 5 pm on Wednesday. The session will also ponder upon the current national issues including Law and Order, Economic policy, IIOJK, and foreign policy.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Shareef is also likely to make a farewell address to the joint session of the country’s parliament.

As per media reports, no decision about the caretaker prime minister as mystery still looms regarding who will get on the driving seat of the executive apparatus. However, the sources said that a consensus has been reached between the opposition and the government over the name of the caretaker Prime Minister.

However, Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) Raja Riaz said that he would meet with Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday (today) to consult on the name of the interim PM.

The federal government is completing its constitutional term in a few days and Shehbaz Sharif had already announced that he would send a summary to the president for dissolution of NA on 9 August.

As per the Constitutional, the country’s prime minister and leader of the opposition in NA are required to hold consultations on the caretaker PM’s name.
