ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has recorded a 1.80% surge in service exports in the first 11 months of the fiscal year 2023-24 compared to the same period last fiscal year.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), exports of services were recorded at $7.129 billion as against the exports of $7.004 billion during the same period of last year.
In May 2024 alone, service exports rose by 7.90% year-on-year, totaling $687.91 million compared to $637.54 million in May 2023.
Meanwhile, service imports decreased by 10.11% during the same period, amounting to $881.04 million compared to $980.17 million last year.
Month-on-month in May 2024, service exports increased by 6.48% and imports by 5.76% compared to April 2024. Specifically, service exports in May 2024 were $687.91 million versus $646.03 million in April 2024, while service imports were $881.04 million compared to $833.06 million in the previous month.
