Pakistan: Six Killed and over 50 Injured in Fatal Bus Collision in Nawabshah

NAWABSHAH:  Six people, including two women, have tragically lost their lives, and over 50 others sustained injuries in a devastating collision between two passenger buses near the Balochpur stop on Mehran Highway in Nawabshah.

The incident occurred when two passenger coaches collided near the Daud area of Nawabshah. One bus was en route from Karachi to Rahim Yar Khan, while the other was traveling from Peshawar to Karachi.

Preliminary reports suggest that both buses were traveling at high speeds, and the collision took place during an overtaking maneuver. It is estimated that there were more than 60 passengers on board the buses at the time of the accident.

A spokesperson from the rescue team revealed that four individuals, including two women, tragically lost their lives on the spot and were immediately transferred to the civil hospital. Additionally, two injured individuals were taken to The People’s Medical Hospital, but unfortunately, they could not be saved.

The spokesperson further informed that approximately 50 injured individuals have been admitted to The People’s Medical Hospital, where medical staff are providing necessary treatment to all the passengers. Hospital authorities have reported that four of the injured, including a young child, are in critical condition and have been shifted to the ICU ward for intensive care.

The police have released the identities of the deceased victims as Dar Bibi, Razia Bibi, Bakhsh Tir, Gul Agha, Qurban Mirani, and Abdul Majeed Solangi.

This tragic accident has caused immense sorrow and highlights the need for improved road safety measures to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. Local authorities are investigating the collision to determine the exact cause and hold any responsible parties accountable.
