ISLAMABAD: Finally, the father of India tennis star Sania Mirza broke the silence on the divorce of his daughter from Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik. Talking to Indian media on Saturday, Imran Mirza said that his daughter Sania was the one who sought separation from Shoaib Malik through khula (the right of a Muslim woman to divorce her husband in the court).
Imran Mirza’s comments came at a time when Shoaib Malik announced his marriage to renowned television actress and model Sana Javed on social on Saturday. He also shared pictures of his wedding with the TV star and now his wife. He wrote on his social media account:
“Alhamdullilah. And We created you in pairs,” wrote the 41-year-old cricketer on his Instagram page.

It is pertinent to mention here that news and rumors about Sania and Shoaib’s divorce repeatedly appeared in the media last year. However, the couple remained silent on the issue without sharing any comment on the media.
Sania Mirza got married to Shoaib Malik back in April 2010, whereas their first child, Izhaan, was born in October 2018.
