MANCHESTER: At the Etihad Stadium, Tottenham managed to secure a thrilling 3-3 draw against Manchester City, shocking the home side.

Despite facing a mounting injury crisis, Spurs, led by manager Ange Postecoglou’s unwavering commitment to attacking football, found success. Son Heung-min scored at both ends within the first 10 minutes, and though Phil Foden and Jack Grealish gave City the lead, Dejan Kulusevski’s 90th-minute header denied City the win, marking their fifth league game dropping points in the last eight.

As a result, the reigning English and European champions slipped to third place in the table, trailing leaders Arsenal by three points. Meanwhile, Tottenham’s earned point lifted them to fifth, breaking their streak of three consecutive defeats.

Tottenham’s bold approach yielded early results when Son capitalized on Kulusevski’s pass to score against City. However, City responded swiftly as Son inadvertently scored an own goal moments later. Despite City’s dominance and missed opportunities by Erling Haaland, the visitors’ unconventional defensive lineup struggled to contain City’s attacks.

While City managed to take the lead through Foden after a precise move, their complacency allowed Lo Celso to level the score with a precise strike. City missed several chances to extend their lead before Grealish tapped in a cross from Haaland. Nonetheless, Kulusevski’s perfectly timed header and controversy surrounding a halted play in stoppage time saw City settling for the draw.

The game’s aftermath included repercussions for City, with Rodri and Grealish receiving yellow cards that would render them suspended for their upcoming match against Aston Villa, a team with an impressive home record in the Premier League.
